Great thread. Cant wait to see it up and running. If it gives you an idea i paid $65 for two pieces of that size. This hobby is crazy. Outrageous prices for things that come from nature for basically free

nice score, I'd have snatched that up too but I snag drift out of my local creek instead of paying stuuuupid prices haha.
 
I watch Nat Geo all the time and when I see large pieces of beautiful wood/drift wood/spider wood laying there in the wild im always like damn that a $1000 piece of wood haha

It is amazing how common items get marked up because someone washed it off and labeled it for aquarium use. Common rocks $10 or $20 a piece and you can get them for pennies a pound at the hardware store or even cheaper pick them up and wash them yourself.
