I have a colony of about 20 Orange Chromides and 10 Green Chromides together in a brackish water tank. I received the Etroplus suratensis from ciclasoman (Jose Gonzalez) as 3/4" fry late last summer and the Etroplus maculatus are F1s from WC parents (from India). I have been aware of and intrigued by this fish (suratensis) for over 50 years and it took me that long to actually obtain some. Here are a couple of pictures of the two species living in harmony. The Greens are now just hitting 3-4" and beginning to get more color. Hopefully the day will come when I have fry from them.

Sorry for the late reply. They are at a salinity of ~1.005 I think. I'm using 1/2 cup of sea salt / 5 gallons of water. BTW, they are now 5- 7" and have spawned. Here's a pic.

Awesome fish. How has their personality been? Any aggression issues?

There has been virtually no aggression to speak of among the Green Chromides and they don't pay any attention at all to the Orange Chromides.

Another excellent job! I'm intrigued by their lack of aggression. I've seen them being a bit waspish towards species that resembled them in appearance. I had no idea they were fine with conspecifics. I should have tried the mix back when I was keeping them.

How are the proud parents acting towards their tank mates?
