Flowerhorn color questions????

What could she be scared of she is the only one in the tank. She don't appear to be scared of me because whenever I approach the tank she comes to the front to show off

My money is still on stressed out. Have you tested the water ?

What's the water temperature set at? Could be something this simple. Raise it to 86 Fahrenheit. They're pretty hardy fish and from experience, they get dark when my heater goes out.
 
As stated above cichlids change color with mood, age, sexual maturity, and readiness, so it is not unusual when changes occur.

Temp is at 82. The water tested good, but I just did a large water change anyway just to be on the safe side.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that fish with be darker with dark substrate and washed out with light substrate. I don't believe she's stressed because she is swimming all the place like normal..... on another note. I just killed 3 of my fish by not matching the water temperature properly. This is the first time this has ever happened. I was doing too many things at one time. Either way I am very pissed off!!!!
