MR Blue.. are those HID transformers I'm seeing on your floor? If so, are you using them on a tank?

I did for about a week, since it came with the aquarium. However, 500 watts of HID is too much for fresh, even with 6700 and 10000 bulbs.

I switched for an ecoxotic e series. Lacks the punch of HID though.

You're crazy bottom feeder!

Ha! So I've been told. They're actually mostly reptiles and amphibians, which is good because when time comes to move out, I can condense pretty much everything into rubbermaid crates.

All except my blue tongue skink, my house gecko, and my aquatic roommates.

its not convenient for for me to do water changes in the bedroom. hence, no bedroom tank.

I don't think I could sleep with the noise going on either.

I sleep in my 8yr old son's room because he's afraid to sleep alone. 29g, 75g, & 5g. Hopefully I can go back to my own room someday soon.

Watch South Park's "Spooky Fish" episode and you will find out why your son can't sleep. :)

In my single days, I had a 180 reef, a 100 with fish and a Hawaiian Dragon moray, and a 100 with an octopus, all plumbed into a filter in a storage closet. Closet was vented outside, so no noise, heat, or humidity. Perfect setup, but marriage killed that.
