Nice score. I'd go with the Jar myself. Never got the love for silvers. Jars, however, are a whole bucket of nasty, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Sad I had to let mine go.
 
Cool pick up. But with that tank size I'd say stick with the jar so you could keep it for life. The silver will have to go eventually if you can't upgrade. And it sucks growing attached to a fish and then having to let it go.
 
I agree, and will most likely stick with the Jar, he is a mealworm assassin......lol
 
lol, be eating you outta house and home soon like my asian... at 14inch he will eat 8+ 4inch silver sides and still beg for more!
 
Characterful guys for sure, my silver was very skittish, grown a whole new respect for aro since my 14inch yellow tail, mine is bold as you like and has beat my 14inch butti into submission now running my tank!

I really like both and I have to weigh the pros and cons associated with each species. One of the biggest factors is of course tank size and the long term quality of life I can provide. The silver is very graceful and mellow, while the Jar is just flat out cool and doesn't get as big. I have some time to grow them a bit and see how it turns out. At any rate one of my fellow Jersey Boyz will eventually be getting a nice fish.
 
A little update on the Jardini. it's very camera shy and will not stop for a good pic but it's filling out and growing. Got it to eat some earth worm and shrimp today.
