How to make big driftwood safe?

What do you mean by "brine?" Assuming a typo. I'm about to go DW hunting this weekend and would love some tips on cleaning.

Really not interested in exposing my stock to any sort of parasites.

For huge pieces i spray the off good, get off the remaining bark, and pour boiling water on it multiple times then soak it in a big tub. I have a huge piece now thats too big to even put in a tub.

I let it all dry for a day or two outside, that's all I do. I do, as a precaution, treat the tank with ParaGuard at 3/4 dosage for a couple days after I put it in the tank, but that's just me.

I put it on my grill just above the grates for 2 hours and turned it in between. Didn't leave any marks on the wood but was too hot to touch. I figure that woulda killed something.

Brine as in salt solution.
I buy a few pounds of salt and create a saturated brine in my bath tub.
Pathogens die from osmotic pressure.
Good luck.
