All I need to raise an arowana?

I will buy a 150 - 200 gallon tank. Now, I am planning to buy a juvenile arowana (about 5 inches long). If this doesn't work, I will just use it as a saltwater tank. I have found shops that sell arowana food, bloodworms and a shop that sells the young arowanas. The tank set that I will buy includes a powerful filter & a strong and secure lid (there are florescent lights on the lid, so I think it might injure the fish it tries to jump).

So, is there anything more I need to do or buy? I know I will have to fishlessly cycle the tank. Is this all I need?
 
Welcome to MFK:) If you are looking to buy a Silver Aro neither the 150 or 200 will be large enough for life.

I'm still deciding between Asian, Red, Jardini and Green Arowana. Which one would be the friendliest (I know it depends on the individual fish, but in general), smallest & cheapest?
 
I would suggest a jardini they don't get as large as the silver arowanas and other species usually. They are very social and learn to recognize you more quickly. Moreover they are fairly cheaper than the Asians. The only bad thing about a jardini is you have to keep it alone.
 
Those tanks will be too small for an aro.
 
That was the biggest tank I could find. I would buy the biggest tank possible, but the next biggest tank I can find is 8 feet and costs $12,050.
Is there anything I could do to make the tank more interesting to the arowana like add a toy or something so size of the tank wouldn't matter too much to the fish (excluding stunted growth)
 
A 6' x 2' x 2' tank will work for a Jardini or Leichhardti anything like a 180 on up, of course bigger is better. Length and width is more important than height. You need good filtration, clean, very clean water and good food. Leichhardti are more gracile than jardini but tend to cost a little more.
 
Wow, $12,000 for an 8ft tank? May I ask where you are from?
