When can you sex an umbee?

I have an umbee that is 4 inches, I know I can't really sex him right now, but what size do they have to be for me to be able to? Also when he is big enough, how can I sex him?

He has ick right now but this is the clearest picture I could get, is there anything specific you are looking for so I could take a better picture for you?
