I feed a similar diet. Mysis, blood worms, chopped shrimp and smelts. I only feed 4-5 times a week. Maybe I'll increase feedings.

Mine sheds frequently as well.

If you could get some frozen silversides, give those a try. That's her favorite. She goes crazy over them. I was worried that I'm over feeding and I was thinking about cutting back to every other day, but mine seems to be doing fine.

Once they get around your size, its no problem if you feed every other day. Unless your trying to get your lima big quick :)
Ok great! I knew at some point I would cut back on feedings, just wasn't sure when was a good time. She kind of let's me know when she wants to eat, some nights she doesn't want to if she's had a big meal the night before.

How did you train the fish to hand feed? Mine bolts as soon as my hand enters the tank. You should persevere with pellet training, mine goes crazy for hikari massivore and carnivore.

I feed her the same time every night, at first I was dropping the food in right in front of her nose, then as she started getting used to the schedule she began swimming to the top when she knew it was feeding time, I started leaving my hand in the water after I dropped the food and then she just eventually started taking it from my hand. Now as soon as she sees my hand go in the tank she comes right up to it and her little whiskers "feel" all over my hand for food :)
I do have to be careful and go slow, not make any fast movements. She's very easily spooked and it makes me so nervous, I'm afraid she'll hurt herself because she's so fast.
I definitely will continue with the massivore, I have tried to starve her out before but it hasn't worked yet, I give in before she does. And it's hard because if I drop it in, my oscars love it and they snatch it up.

I picked up a similar sized one around March. It is in a 125 with an oscar and severum, but I haven't got the growth you have. What and how often are you feeding?

There's more than one species in this family that look very similar and grow to different lengths. You could possibly have a smaller species. I bought one that never grew larger than 10"and found out later that it was a Sorubim Elongatus which maxes out around 11-12" and not a Sorubim Lima which grows a lot larger.
