Why does it seem like people always want bigger tanks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dont atm, sometimes i want bigger than my 300g, then other times i get fed up with having a large tank...
Why is that? i ask because I would like to set up a big tank some day but I'm always afraid I'm gonna get tired of it.

Good enough for me. Let me see if my girlfriend will give me the green light to even start dreaming of a real monster tank !!!!

Boys and girls. Girlfriend must buy you aquarium stuff not turn your down. This is how we do it.
:D :D :D

Because no matter how big a tank you get, before to long it will start to look small again.

LOL...in the jewelry forums, we call this phenomenon DSS (diamond shrinkage syndrome).

Here, we'll just refer to it as A.S.S (aquarium shrinkage syndrome). :D

Because people are obsessed with size, fascinated, frightened, mesmerized. Hence the success of Jaws, Jurassic Park... and most of them fishing and hunting stories.

Because few can keep a lion, a bear, a leopard, a wolf, as a pet. But ichthyo-equivalents are marginally doable. Perhaps ~ the same expense but far safer.

Because we gat bored with what we already have.

Because some people want to fill a particular void, which cannot be filled with earthly things.

I keep sizing up because I always feel my fish need more room.
My ruby barbs started out in a 20 long. Now they're in a 48x18 45gallon tank. And I would like to eventually move them to a 6' tank.
My 11" midevil is in a 75 and as soon as I find a stable job I'll be moving him into something like a 180.
They can just always use more room.

I prefer to think of it as MTS (massive tank syndrome) for which there is no cure.

But don't confuse it with MTS (Multiple tank syndrome), as they are completely different things. :P
