I am sure that there are other companies in your area, but one national company that does have locations in Georgia is Binswanger. Look around on the web for glass companies, many that strongly advertise auto/windshield glass repair work also have suppliers for plate glass and will gladly give you a quote for the piece you need. It is typically sold at a price per square inch. Unfortunately, I hate to say, once you get up to 1/2" thickness, panels are not cheap. I don't know what you call expensive, but it can't hurt to call around and see what quotes you can get! Just out of curiosity, what do you have invested in the tank as is?

I am in ontario which doesn't really help you but I have had good luck going to shops where the make showers

Glasscages.com sells 1/2" plate glass $9 a square foot, your piece would be 12 square feet, so $108, not too bad as long as shipping isn't the same.

I am working on a plywood tank right now and the glass is a bit away at the moment as money is tight for me as well. I have found several places, dullesglassandmirror.com, and the glasscages.com. dulles is more expensive for the glass by double, but shipping is little to nothing, and the glass will weigh almost 150 lbs. Glasscages, the glass is $100 but havent called about shipping charges yet. Have you tried any local glass companies yet? Be interesting to know how much shipping is on glass.

Hey, the best thing that I have found was glasscages.com. For the glass I need it is $108. Shipping is $48 so my total would come to $156. That was also depending on my location from the store though. I am in Georgia and Glasscages is in Tennessee. So, that could be why it is so cheap for me. I haven't found any local glass companies around me. So the only thing I found was places online. Glasscages being the best option.

I found an online shop and they got a pretty good price for the size glass I need. Not too far away so shipping isn't too outrageous! glad I found one!

Another thing, The plastic trim on aquariums. Where can I find new ones? That is so beat up on this aquarium. Top and Bottom.

I called glasscages.com monday morning and the glass I need is only $101 so I asked her how much the shipping was and she replies, there is none, I was like sweet and she says no we cant ship that. my glass is 1/2" thick by 25-1/2" tall 59-1/2" long. I am not quite understanding this lol

They may just not deliver to your area. They won't be shipping it to my home either. They just said they make deliveries in town "near" where I live. I am not sure what they mean by it but they said their truck delivers here. I guess I will go wherever their truck goes to pick up. They may just not make a delivery in the state you live in.
