got my trigon, any suggestions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would probably put the GT in the trigon between spawns, it will give you more options. I'm guessing the texas is pretty passive if he hasn't taken over the whole tank yet.
Texas has part of tank, other bit gt has
sev are neutral
but gt initiates territory take over but texas don't back down
he's gangster but gt has edge ONLY when breeding
when not breeding texas wins in face offs
but gt is ruthless when breeding
he's a "homicidal maniac" (to quote comvict) lol :D

I think your open to whatever you like as long as you have a place to separate the GT and severum. It might never be an issue, but I'd find comfort in having a possibility. You could probably get away with less aggressive cichlids, or something too wimpy to beat up a severum. If your looking outside of cichlids you could get away with poly which I've found some interest, any kind of tetra-esque community or possibly channa which we can't keep here. You will have to find someone a bit more informed than me for any of those, I've been dedicated to severum and friends for the past year or two.

good point, tilapia was only if I kept the sevs, gt etc in tank they're all in and start a new lot of fish
but taking it all on board from you and convict, agree tb would be huge lol

I love my Trigon, my only bugbear is that for its large size; it doesn't offer a massive amount of room for fish, and cichlids I kept in it were always at war; hence the single GT lol.

They do however offer massive potential for non cichlid community tanks, which I might do down the line.

You might of course have entirely different experiences with it when yours is set up, which I'm looking forward to. Seen the filter outlet etc, looks good; mine was also drilled but I sealed it as I was a bit scared of leaks lol
