Datnoid breeding, the truth behind the "farms"

Can someone please chime in on the subject, I have a friend who believes Datnoids are being bred in captivity hence the abundance of baby ID am year round, I've tried telling him they are all wild caught but he keeps coming back with tid bits of info saying they are being commercially bred from various sources. Anyone have some solid info to either shut him up or vindicate his claims?

Thus far no one has come forth with any solid proof of farm breeding(certainly not enough to supply the aquarium market)...only talk.
