New Tank. 300 Gallons!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its gonna be so much sanding. Should be well worth it in the end though. Any stocking ideas? Obviously the aro is the primary fish, but im trying to think of some of the less common south american cichlids i could but in there.

There is an acrylic repair kit I have. I'll check to see who makes it. It comes with 800 grit all the way down to about 3600 grit sandpaper it works wonders on real bad tanks.!

I have 2 polys right now, an ornate and senegal, and I have to keep them seperate. The senegal is agressive with every other poly I put with him. We will have to see if 300 gallons is enough space for him. As far as sanding, would I have to polish, i.e. novus, after sanding?

Looks good. If it's not gonna be a show tank or you don't care about minor scratches. Get the Novus kit and an automotive orbital buffer and some microfiber bonnets and go to town. What's the dimensions. Without the filter

Not sure about without filter dimensions, haven't made it that far yet. I do plan on trying novus and seeing how that turns out before committing to sanding the whole thing. Step 1 is to get that background out. It takes up more than half the space inside the tank.

The background does look great, but he's got a really good point. That background takes up so much space a beta would be cramped in there lol.

Agreed. Especially considering the tank is mainly for my silver aro. If I was doing a cichlid only tank it would be awesome.
