New Tank. 300 Gallons!

I though briefly about going with a fluidized bed with k1, but I already have so much available media it would be a waste for me to spend the money on it.
You'll only have as much bacteria as the bio load requires, so as long as you have enough of any media it makes no difference.
I agree. I'm just saying, why replace what I already have when what I have will do fine. I would have to spend extra money to set up a fb filter.
Going to start work in earnest this afternoon. First comes getting the rust off the stand. I'll post tank dimensions later 
Got some of the easy work out of the way this afternoon, stand got sanded down and is ready for cleaning and then primer and paint. I took the portions with rust all the way down to bare metal and roughed up the rest. I also started to cut out that background bit by bit with a dremel. The tank is already looking sooooo much bigger. Tank measures 80L X 26D X 24H which by my math works out to about 217 gallons of swimming room. The filter portion measures 80X4X24. So the tank turns out to be closer to 250 than 300 gallons. Still very happy about it though. Should be big enough for my aro.
Trouble in paradise!!! I was looking around the tank this morning and found this chip in the bottom left corner. It's a little bigger than a quarter. I have some scrap acrylic sheets laying around and I think I could make a corner brace for it. My question is, could I use pvc cement to bond the acrylic?
Amazing tank especially at that price! I was looking at it and was thinking that is not 300 but pictures look deceiving. Roughly 220 gallons seem right. Good luck with the repair! Did you test it before to see if you had any leaks?
