Juvi Dovii and bare bottom tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ya she is. Sadly I'm coming up on rehoming her. I'm pretty sure she's gonna be one of those fish I regret getting ride of but I know I'll also enjoy the fish I'm replacing her with.

Sorry to hear that. Anyways, I've loved doing the slate bottom and I picked up the tiles at homedepo for like $1 a square foot. Highly recommend it if you like the look

Not that I know of. Yes it's solid but less than an inch thick. Assuming you'd normally put 2" of gravel/sand I feel like that'd be heavier.

Gravel, background, hiding places, dim lights and don't sneak up on them. Dovii take a while to come around, mine was still skittish at 10" or so. Most fish need hiding places when young and need to feel secure. I would put pots and plants to give them cover.

When I first brought my dovii home-5" one week ago- he went into the cycled 55. He hated it! I had him in the far corner of the room, so not much foot traffic or lighting. So...I found a 5' long 80 g acrylic, put 50 lbs of silica sand, driftwood, rocks, a plant, made him caves and set the tank in the room where there is traffic on both sides. Also added 2 convicts and they just fight for cave space for now. Since the move, my little dovii has gained 1.5"...in just a week and has personality, loves to interact with people and the cats, unbelievable change in him!
