So forgive me for not knowing the correct name for the colour, but does anyone have any blue Flowerhorns they'd like to share? Would like to see some pics if anyone keeps them :)

I have some thai silk aka titanium flowerhorns. Not mine but for reference...

Shame about them being weak, they look phenomenal
They go hand in hand. Close inbreeding and linebreeding is used to fix desirable traits into strains. I suspect there was alot of inbreeding just to get that pearl mutation in the first place.

Yep. Except for some reason most ebjd guys won't acknowledge or believe they originated from a hybrid, they would rather keep inbreeding genetically weak fish. Now they are all doing "platinum" or "green" jacks without reason. Their color is not as nice as a blue or a gold and both types are so inbred the outcross is pointless anyways haha. Oh well money talks.
If you want a silk fh make sure you can observe them swim and eat. Make sure they display aggression to insure the inbreeding depression will not be an issue.

I'm not sure what to think but I lean towards the colour morph of a pure fish since, apart from deformities, you don't see much variation in the fishes shape or size. Whith any hybrids I've ever bred, there was a lot of variation. Saying that, I've never back crossed or bred the first generation hybrids myself. I'm tempted to grown on the fry from my fertile Convict x Sajica and see how the fry look after a few generations.

I dont know jo 2 ebjd look the same and most are quite dissimilar. I wanted to try and roll my own ebjd. Just need me a couple cubans and jacks and wait for the pearls to break over a couple gens then back cross for fertility. Then I could tell everybody I got them from the original breeder in Argentina because ebjd keepers will believe anything.
