Nice to see prices getting more reasonable again. Tiger scats are great.

For a $100 you might as well just buy them and grow them out! You save a lot of cash then buying the big ones with the big price tag!

Monster Aquarium has been selling for prices back in June of this year when Socal members were trying to these fish for almost double the price.

Shipment of 5 tiger scats came from Monster Aquarium today. All 5 look pretty healthy so far. Couple of them look to be pushing 4". Never received an email with a tracking number like he said I would, but the fish came when expected and healthy. So, overall pretty happy with the purchase from them.20151027_125250.jpg

These are freshwater. However, I ran mine in a rift lake setup with Tropheus and Gibberosa. The water parameters were alkaline via aragonite rice gravel and bulk limestone. And, I used rift lake salt (calcium chloride instead of marine sodium chloride). My tigers seemed to enjoy those conditions.
Keep lots of plant material in the tank for them to graze on. I was constantly refilling veggie clips with cabbage, root veggie tops, celery tops, spinach, etc. They also enjoyed thawed frozen peas, fresh peas, or canned peas. Spirulina wafers/sticks/flakes are also readily taken. They also seemed to prefer earthworm sticks.
Don't try to keep any live or plastic plants in their tank. Real or fake will be equally chewed up. I grew anacharis plants in outdoor kiddie pools and would place a banded bunch in their tank for them to chew down to bare stalks.

Congratz on the pick up. I really enjoy my 7 Scats. They're ravenous constantly looking for something to graze on. When you approach they'll swarm together in fury of movement, jockeying for the best position to get at any offered food.

Thank you for the insight. I will be keeping mine with clown loaches, so hopefully they adapt well to my tap water. I will grab some veggies for them tonight.

I can imagine! I had them in a bucket to drip acclimate, stuck my hand in to try to gauge the temp, and two of them perked right up and swam over to my fingers lol. The few people I've talked to that have had them, all said they really enjoyed them. Looking forward to keeping them
