Astronotus ocellatus Bahia Red trying to breed but Cincta getting in way.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow looks great. Cinctas looking good as usual and those Bahia red tails look nice as well. Have your cincta spawned anymore since last time you updated us?

They haven't yet. Maybe in the winter.

They crenicichla, red tails, and the severums are all paired up but the pikes keep everyone from breeding. The pikes bred a few times but we haven't been able to get the eggs to hatch. The l ikes are the centerpiece with the other fish there to complement them. I paired them up to reduce conspecific aggression. I try to get all species as groups and thin them down to a pair once a pair forms.

I love the giant mouths those pikes have.
