What was the blue to black? I also noticed sand and then nothing? Did you decide against substrate?
Also, the gallons would be closer to 1600 than 1200..what is the freeboard inside the tank?

the blue was ames blue max had a small leak so i painted it black with pool paint. sand was in and out for small leaks and to fiberglass the bottom for extra safety factor.now it has sand in it again. about 4inchs. once you subtract the 3.5 and 5/8ths for the wood its around 1200 plus some for the filter.
