I know this has been brought up before. However I am looking to replace what I thought was "best bang for your buck" the Pondmaster Ap 100...... Had one fail today in the same way others have in the past so looking for something else - something maybe a little more reliable? I replaced the AP 100 with a 100 lpm Jehmco Linear Piston and it seems to do the same job of boiling the reactor ALONG with the discs in the tank just as well as the 2 pumps being run together. :( Maybe the rating "system" can be manipulated? Maybe we aren't comparing apples to apples? There's talk of Jehmco "conservatively" rating pumps.

Been looking at Jehmco Linear Piston, then thought why not the diaphragm ones (more air)? 220 LPM!?!?

Anyone have either of these? Any recommendations along these specs???

Sorry can't help but how did the ap100 fail?

Diaphragm blew out, the little piece between the two sets of windings wore into one of the sets of windings and arced out - cut right threw a few of the windings. Second time I've seen it happen. 1st time wasn't as bad as the coils didn't open - pump still worked. This one's dead. Doesn't do anything.

Pretty sure Didysis had the same failure with his. When it rubs through like that it pumps everything full of metal dust.

I tried inquiring with the company the first time I saw this and they never even bothered responding. I have 3 of these pumps here and just feel like I've spent too much on fish to trust them to rely on a pump that only lasts a few years.

I will see wht pumps i have on mine. My old one is a little loud now but had been running good for about 5 years now

Lufts aren't very big, or efficient.

IF I went with 3 of those Dolphins we're talking 105 watts, 240 LPM, Under $400. I haven't seen anything that even comes remotely close to this.....

I will be watching this. i need to order one too. I am leaning towards Jehmco. I was also eyeing laguna too but don't know much about them. The one from Ken's looks interesting . I wonder how quite it is. Also does it have a rebuild kit?
