Some spoilers in this post so look away if you haven't seen the movie

Lost credibility?....there was more that I wanted to say about him in the other thread but not many here seem to have seen the movie yet.

What I mean by "lost credibility" is that before the mask came off, he was the Most intimidating villain of the series for me. Might have been smaller than Darth Vader in stature but
1. The mask looked sick
2. His voice in the mask (at least in the german Version) was deep
3. It was acted out very well, the whole posture of the actor and the way he loses it after getting bad news makes him a really convincing villain, then he takes off the mask and just becomes kinda soft.. this is also not aided by the fact he loses a battle against Rey who hasn't even received Basic Training while he has been trained by the Most powerful sith lord of his era.

....and worst of all, he could barely hold his own against a saber wielding janitor lol.
I was picking his fighting apart as well but I forgot that he was already injured by Chewbacca. That blast would have killed a mere commoner but it apparently greatly weekened Kylo.
Kylo Ren knocked it out of the ballpark with his first appearance...from his posture and his voice,as you pointed out,to his slow, evil exuding stride.
I get the impression that he is not quite yet a master but still early in his journey and as I said before, while I was okay with Ren's true appearance the reveal should have been held off til at at least the next installment.

The girls that were with us seeing the film, didn't care about the story etc, they just kept saying Kylo Ren looked like Severus Snape lol.

Is there a star wars spoilers thread? Means we could discuss everything and people would know to avoid the thread if they havent seen it yet :)

None that I know of and I see your point but I wouldn't go snooping around on a thread about a movie that I have not seen yet and don't wish to be let in on.

Lol @Severus Snape!.....not being a Potter fan I had no idea who that was and had to go look him up.

Chewy's blast only Hit him in the hip, and aren't jedi+sith supposeed to heal super fast? Other than that, I agree completely!

Jedi have healing powers, the Sith do not. Traditionally in lore they have a horrible time healing, unless it's stealing the health from others. Only the Sorcerers can do that though, not warriors like the kid.

I liked the first half, the last half kinda lost the star wars feels for me. I love the original but would like to see them not redo something while keeping the style and story in line. I like the new characters, minus kylo ren and phasma. He was a dissapointment to me, starter out good, but disn't care for him by the end. Weak and not menacing at all, just very emo and angry. Phasma wasn't around asuch as I thought and really didn't do much. Both were built up only to dissapoint. I think they should have split this film to tell more story unless they plan to do so with the future films. It felt like a long trailer or something. It also gave everything away, was predictable and outside of where's more story I didn't feel like i was left with to many unanwsered questions . I did enjoy the movie and I am looking forward to seeing where they take it and hope this was just some introduction to a larger, better detailed story.

Also curious as to how many death stars will be built and destroyed by the conclusion of star wars.

Yeah but when his blasts hits Stormtroopers in the shoulder or upper body areas it pretty much knocks them into a spin yet it didnt knock Ren off his feet....not sure about Jedi healing powers.

But,Ren is not a Sith at least not yet.
