Please tell me what the fish on the bottom left is

I know the rest of the fish are sheep head and mullet but what is the gray fish that looks like a pompano sorta been looking all over and have no idea what it is.

Do you have a photo of the head? It almost looks like a surgeonfish or something along those lines, but it doesn't have the knife on its tail.

That is a sheephead as well I believe. Only ones we have around here are silver/grey.

Lowfin Chub Kyphosus vaigiensis. A common schooling fish, we actually fish for these guys with seaweed but I have taken them with strips of squid etc.

I do find it funny that people kill a fish with out knowing its ID and/or regs.

Kill and eat it now, worry about the fine later, huh? I'm a stickler for following Fish and game laws. They are all in place for a good reason, and IMO aren't strict enough nor enforced enough

I would have guessed a Porgy or a white grunt, but I can't see the head or mouth
