New bichir to the collection

Well I think they're pretty grey as is. If your trying to draw that out you could use either white or black sand. Black will just darken it up and even show some green. White sand will just make the gray more contrasting.
 
Imo I wouldn't say wc. There are cb weeksi's. They all come asia. But telling from appearance. They look identical. Only way to know is from your LFS source.unless another hobbyist dropped it off.
 
My Weeksi stuff their faces until they look lumpy, but don't hold a candle to my lower jaws. I got a Congicus and Weeksi at around the same time, both about 12". The Weeksi might have put on .5" while the Congicus is stretching 16-17"!
 
Congrats! You got your weeksii!

I forgot how gawky looking they are at that size. They all all head! They grow into it and to me become one of the best looking of the bichir.
 
Speaking of grey... Is this what you mean?

Yes I love that look, reminds me of a great white shark. I will look for that sand. And yeah that head is huge. It ate quite a bit and it's not too shy I see it move a lot with the lights off. I'm loving it already. How big is your girl and how old? You have the best weeksii I've seen in the forum

Mine looks like that and is over mostly black rock with a little bit of blue mixed in. Mines is fairly active during the day stays moving around just mainly in one side it moves up and down vertically and then it moves all around the bottom. Mines is about 12 inches maybe a little more. Fairly thick. Not sure if it's a female or male haven't really checked. This del is 8 inches
