My 150 Refresh. Rio Negro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Added a new video from today just after feeding some blackworms. 2 new branch pieces of manzanita added to fill out the right side of the tank.

Inhabitants are 10 Symphysodon Heckel, 5 Biotodoma Cupido, 5 Crenicichla Notopthalmus, 10 Marbled hatchets, and 4 Hemiodus Gracilis.

I have 14 Hyphessobrycon Pyrrhonotus, 2 Ancistrus Dolichopterus, and either a pair of Ivanocara Adoketa or 4 Pterophyllum Leopoldi on the way.

Very nice robin I think u need more hemiodus! Notophthalmus are definitely my favorite dwarf pike. Keep us updated if u get them to spawn man

Thanks Jakcob. I had more hemiodus but lost a few when I had to up the temps to treat for intestinal parasites in my discus. I didn't have air pumps and the 2ater was quite warm. They didn't make it. All the cichlids in the tank pulled through no problem but not the hemiodus. Given their max size, I'm going to stick with just the 4 for bio loads sake.

I really like the hemiodus, what is the max size for these?

They are supposed to get to 6 inches but they are very slender. Nice active fish. The family hemiodopsus have some pretty cool looking characins that mix well with a variety of SA setups and can be found throughout the amazon.

Do you know if any are found in Northern Peru or western Ecuador?

Thank you.
I have read about those rhodsea before but I have never seen any for sale.
It's a pity because they would be the perfect solution.
There is also an anostomos species suitable but again I can never find any.
