i used to see a lot of that here... in those little critter tank meant for temp holding while transferring
and etc with the handle and open able lid...
Yeah that's it and I'm almost certain that this turtle is from one of those mongers.
So what's up with random strangers showing up and dumping turtles on your lawn?

no idea maybe they know i have dogs and a bunch of tanks for fishes and turtles or
maybe my lush green lawn attracts them who knows...lol... ive nourished, brough back
to good health and rehomed probably close to 20 res that were dumped on my lawn
this year lol most go to a older couple i know with a large indoor pond just for turtles.
once theyre back to good health i just find them good homes and re-home em.

It's good that you were able to save and rehome so many of them. Those are my intentions for this one.

i try. unfortunately not all of the turtles dumped on my yard made it. sometimes i find them
and its already too late. :(

So I found out who the turtle belonged to....turns out some gal down the street who claims to have had it for five years and all of a sudden no longer wanted it.She did not know where to take it to so she just placed it outside....when I came across the turtle a stray cat was sizing it up.

She had the nerve to tell me that she had another turtle that wound up dying after both of it's eyes got infected and swelled up.I told her that she needs to stick with playing with her cell phone and leave the pets animals alone.

A lot of the time swollen/infected eyes in turtles can be nutrition related, usually a vitamin A deficiency. I've heard of people dipping earthworms in cod oil or chicken liver can really help, both high in vitamin A.

I hope it is as simple as that.

I mean, the best way would an injection of vitamins and antibiotics but if its still eating try the cod oil, even cichlid pellets in the oil
