Love those rays and that tank! I have the same problem with that brown algae always appearing, at least it wipes off easy.
Have you tried adding probiotics to the water?
Like septobac or other ones?

I haven't tried anything. Like you said it wipes off super easy and my sand filter takes in what I wipe off
