Clown Loach with cloudy eyes

Added a clown loach to a very well established tank with 2 other loaches and Ray's etc. New loach is about 5" and other 2 about 8". Didn't mean to add the new one to the main tank but he got out from behind a divider. Thought he would be dinner for the Rays but one week later and he is still fine hanging out with the other loaches and no problems from the Rays . However the new loach' eyes have gone cloudy. Eating and acting normal other than this. Tank temp is swinging due to cold weather and daily water changes for the Rays . Temp going from 82 to 79 everyday and wonder if this is effecting the new loach.
Anything else I can do for the new addition? I can't do a lot about the temp for now.

Have you checked your water parameters? I know it sounds too simple, but its a good thing and would help others try and work out why

All normal with nitrate around 30

Any chance the rays are pushing him around a bit? maybe trying to chew him?

I have moved him to a small tank with steady temp and he is fine now. Will have to hold him like this until the warmer weather comes and he can become accustomed to the temp swings in the main tank. The main tank only swings around 2 degrees in warmer weather but 4 degrees in the winter. I think the other clowns that have been in the main tank for a few years are used to the temp swings but the new loach could not handle it.
