Hello; Too early to be sure for my area, but the amount of snow may not be as much as predicted a day ago. On a map of the USA I am within 5 miles of where Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee meet.
Latest estimate around two more inches for Saturday. At 3:26 AM I think there is more than that but not the eight inches +. I spent the afternoon yesterday and today dragging the seven or so inches off of my back awning we got on Wednesday. Warmed up enough to be slushy today and I was able to drag it off. I cobbled together a bit of plywood on a long broom handle at an angle.
So far the power is on. Supposed to be around 8 degrees F tomorrow night. Last winter convinced me after the power went out at five below zero for a few hours. I fixed up the existing flue and have a wood burner.
There are thousands stranded on I-75 not to far from me. Likely on Jellico MT. around Williamsburg KY. Just heard that the National Guard are getting them off the interstate one car at a time. My rule in the winter is to always have at least a half tank or more of fuel when traveling. Also some extra clothes ( dry socks, jackets, gloves, face masks), water, a shovel, a flashlight or two. Hope those folks all make it. Some are reported to be kids.
I know some of you are likely to have it much worse than me. Good luck
