The females aren't so bad, but the males experience serious mental problems as soon as that hump grows and "starts pushing on their brain" lol....it's like a 2nd brain.....1 is the angel on his shoulder telling him to "chill", and the other 1 is the devil on his other shoulder telling him to "kill".
Amphilophus males are the only fish I could never get to coexist in aggressive community tanks. Just too damn savage, especially to each other. Most of the time you need a perforated divider just to breed them without one getting beat-up or worse.
