I'm planning on stocking a 75 gallon with 3 blood parrots, a sajica, and a pair of dorsigeras (plus some tetras for dithers and loaches for scavengers and clean up). I don't know much about caring for blood parrots other than what people have written on these forums and the care sheet so any knowledge shared is appreciated.

I was wondering if those that have kept blood parrots before think this tank would be overstocked and/or the blood parrots would do ok with a sajica. Then, if 3 blood parrots and a sajica would be doable, would 2 sajicas with the blood parrots be fine? I've seen it advised that the minimum for a blood parrot is anywhere from 30-55 gallons and then add 10 for each additional BP. So a 75 should work for 3 correct? If not I would appreciate any help on the suggested stocking. Thank you

It will be overstocked, but I believe everything should get along fine. Parrotfish will get quite large when full grown, and three big parrots with one or two full grown sajicas wil be too much. Might want to go for a lesser quantity of parrots.

Thank you for the advice. If i did 2 parrots would that give me enough room to do 2 Sajicas? Or would it be better to just do 2 parrots and 1 sajica? Or another thought would be removing the dorsigeras, and would that give me enough room to do 3 BP's with a sajica? I'm a bit concerned that with the BP's in my area available at basically tangerine size, the tank would look empty for years with only 2 BP's in it until they grew up. But as said previously, I don't know much about keeping big fish. Just the small peaceful ones.

Parrots are quite peaceful. They can chase and nudge but they have no jaws or even teeth to scrape and bite. Also personally parrots with just fast top fish would look nice too.
My tank tbh is super overcrowded but there isn't much I can do since I can't upgrade since I'm building my arowana a pond. There's 6 parrots 6-8 inches a Jack demsey 7 inches Midas cichlid 8 inches and FH 6 inches in it and it's a 150 gal which is way small. Been like this for 6 years it was my fathers tank(still is I just help now) and the FH is a recent addition growing out in his tank

Wow your Parrots look great.

So do you think 3 parrots in a 75 with a sajica or two would not be too over crowded (with dithers and loaches of course)? At least not to the point it would be detrimental to the fish? If 2 sajicas wouldn't work (because of spawning aggro) do you think it would be safe to put 2 male sajicas or 1 sajica and another similarly sized cichlid (suggestions would be great)? Or would it be better to just leave it at 1 sajica?

Again, thank you for any advice you can share

I'd say 2 parrots and a sajica is the best option and maybe get the parrots a little bigger then the sajica
What fish u using fro dithers?
