He does this whether the lights are on or off. At night I have all lights off and he just has his tank light on. It's an led strip that can be programmed to different colors. Mostly just use white and moonlight. But once again all conditions have been the same over the last 6 months and this just came about.

No I have not checked for this. Could this really be a cause?
One thing I didn't mention is he hasn't seemed to have as much of an appetite during this period as normal. I figured since he has been ripping off scales and probably suffering concussions lol maybe it put him out of the feeding mood but this is something I forgot to mention
Nothing that hasn't been in there the whole time. There can be some slight bubbling near the two returns but nothing crazy
Oh I forgot to say mine starts going nuts when the pH starts dropping especially his appetite it's always a tell tell for me to check it dunno if that's the case for you but just thought I'd mention
