Changed my tanks aquascape up. Opinions welcome.

So ive had this setup for a few years like almost 4, and i wanted to try something new. I want to give the fish a little more room and make it a little more like there natural enviroment. I did all this last night took me about 3 hours. Before pics. Top pic was taken last night bottom pic over a month ago you can see how much my fish have grown.

That's a sweet piece of driftwood.

Just some constructive opinions since you asked ...

It's usually better visually to have your focal point object at the 1//3 point in the tank and not the 1/2 point. Then offset that with a smaller piece at the 2/3 point. And fill in the smaller stuff around those two. So maybe move the wood a bit to the left, then maybe get one large rock and put on the right side. And fill in the smaller rocks around them, leaving and open path in the middle and around the edges.

Also, I'm personally not a big fan of fake plants, think your aquascape would look better with just wood and rocks. Just my opinion though.

One last thing, those rocks are really light colored and thus have a high albedo, which is a bit distracting. It's like a second light source inside your tank.

I think after a month the rocks will have some algae on them and darken them up quit a bit.. We will see.

Just to be clear, it's a great looking tank as it sits... very clean and fish look robust and happy.

Just offering thoughts on maybe how it could be even better.

Thanks! It sucks trying to think out what you are going to do with the aquascape. I just do a little and step back and look/drip water on the floor constantly.. I have so much aquarium stuff just from being in the hobby so many years its endless to how many different scenarios i can setup. Its fun changing it up every few years though. Im always looking at pictures and getting different opinions from others. I appreciate it adamsfishes.

I love this piece of driftwood. Now its drying out..Took a year to get it too stay sunk.. Oh well. I like the new setup better.. I wonder how much its worth.. It measures 3ft 10inchs from end to end.
