55gal oscar tank upgrade

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Update: was at the LFS today, and they had a (what i believe would be considered just a regular bichir polywampus) with just the two fish the oscar has been kinda "pokey" towards the new member of the tank.
1-Will this calm down as they adjust to each other, or should I add a third fish to calm down the dominance?
2- with the newly arriving 125, could i fit another oscar or similar w/o compromising cleanliness and safety of these fish?
3- Both currently are still babies, so I was thinking if I add my final fish, then transfer all at once to their final new home it would be like they adjusted early in life and may all get along?
4- will my aforementioned filter set up be enough if i do add said 2nd oscar?
Thanks for the help yall!

Could you show a pic of the polypterus. They had it labeled as a polywampus lol. Do you have any ornaments in the aquarium.

Amonia 0. Ph 7fish ;) wondering about the bullying and addition of another in a 125. Y'all are a wealth of knowledge!

again is that test kit you are using, the API master fresh water test kit.

As long as the poking isn't non stop , and Oscar is well fed. Also hope poly is comparable in size with Oscar.:)

Lol, nah i'm just being a goof (the techinal names get to me, can't spell them...) I'll try and post a pic. (I'm. Kinda computer/technological illiterate)

He only head butts em if he's near him. Not relentless, the poly is actually larger (in length at least, maybe 1.5x the size of oscar) oscar is a ham- well fed.

The tank has 10 real plants and 2 fake. I turned off the lights and rearranged them when i was aclimating the poly

Oh ok great, make sure poly gets food even If you have to drop pellets in after lights out. Btw I'm going to take a shot in the dark by saying the poly is a Senegalus aka dinosaur bichir.:)
