Looks like I wasn't the only one paying attention for the past 3 decades....Well, I normally support animals in captivity because we can easier learn things about them, however great whites are one of few that just shouldn't be kept in captivity. Even in million gallon tanks plus they have had very poor survival rates (156 days is the record I believe), and that's for juveniles even
Hey, I hit 100 posts. Fun
Lol, I think you might have hit it a bit before me... lol!Looks like I wasn't the only one paying attention for the past 3 decades....
ME TOO!!!!
oh, IDK, but I imagine dozens have tried it ever since the 1st attempt was a failure and had to be released after bumping the glass for days on end 25-30 years agoLol, I think you might have hit it a bit before me... lol!
Yeah, have any other aquariums tried great whites or just MB?
Fair enough. I'm sure seaworld has tried them before, they're pioneers in keeping pelagic sharks. I believe they have tried blues and makos before in the 70's or sooh, IDK, but I imagine dozens have tried it ever since the 1st attempt was a failure and had to be released after bumping the glass for days on end 25-30 years ago
Scientists aren't known for saying "Well, that's puzzling and I'll never figure out why cuz I give up"
except the deep-water species, I think beside the White, almost all pelagic, coastal, requiem, reef, etc have been successfully kept in captivityFair enough. You mean I can't keep one in this 10 gallon tank?great whites have been tried. they died. they sense electromagnetism, like the gravitational field. they circle the tank till dead. just not a fish you can put in a tank.

Hmmmm, but what if I just got one with wings and used a Falconer gauntlet to keep from getting tore-up?I am sure you can get a small one, put him a blender, then dump him in with a crap load of salt and seal it up, and keep him just fine.
