Haha I feel ya man. My ex gf got a retic as her first snake ever just cuz she fell in love with all mine knowing that she wouldn't know what to do with it once it got too big for her to house. We can't stop people from making choices but we can try our best to help them make the right one

ya, and unfortunately some of the ones who would be dumb enough to get "picked-off" would be good friends of mine LOL Loyal, yes, but dumb nonetheless at times. Not exactly aces at evolving lol

Haha I guess I got lucky that I'm the only one outta all my friends that have the balls to mess with a venomous animal. I got some of mine into snakes but none are brave enough to mess with any snake over 6ft except 1 so I don't really have to worry about them haha

After awhile the adrenaline rush isn't as intense as it was when I started - I've gotten very comfortable handling animals alone that should follow the 2-person rule, I don't get nervous handling venomous, and I don't have that feeling in my stomach that reminds me what I am doing could be a disaster if I slip up - I don't think it's a good thing, that is what keeps us on point.

When you "get used to it" is when we let our guard down and forget they are dangerous. Fear doesn't make you weak , it is what keeps you safe and alive. Even the ballsiest, most experienced handlers that have been doing it for decades make mistakes. With great balls comes great responsibility....safety should always be a priority before anything.

I 100% agree. I've never worked with any fast moving elapids like Cobras or mambas so Ik is definitely get nervous around them but I've dealt with rattlers all my life so I'm pretty comfortable with them. I still never take my eyes off them ever! You never know when they'll strike.

u have wild rattlers? where you located? We just have Timbers and Copperheads out here.

I'm in Cali. We have a huge variety of rattlers over here but what I encounter most are southern pacifics but I've also messed with western diamondbacks, red Diamondbacks and sidewinders
