Got few central mudminnows, they surely behaved like esox species. Had a 7" mudminnow before but an ucler got him.
Mudminnow,do they occur in southeastern Pennsylvania? I sometimes catch similar looking fish that I thought were some type of killifish in my minnow traps.

Yes they occurs in southeastern Pennsylvania, called Eastern Mudminnow. We only have central mudminnow in Minnesota.

Then I could have had a few and been using them as feeders.

Yes, in eastern PA there's Eastern Mudminnows and in several spots in Northwestern PA there are good populations of Central Mudminnows, which are what I was catching.

IME pickerel are very hard to get off live. I have been successful with some and unsuccessful with many others. Probably the only reason I dont keep them.

sure I have a few 3 foot esox Lucius in my pond, well now it's a friends pond since he bought the place but I'm sure there's some nice sized ones in there now
