What would you do with a 55 gal?

There are a lot of smaller size fish you could had to it.

I don't have to have a green, but I almost have to have a sunfish. I'm thinking a lone pumkinseed and just build around that with what I can find in the local river, or if something on aquabid really catches my eye. I might have some stocking questions down the line. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

Just be careful with Pumpkinseeds. I'd call them the most aggressive of the Lepomis after Greens.

What would you call the least aggressive? Anyone have a list on experience of sunfish they've kept? Is anything lepomis gonna be a handful? I've heard that longears are second to greens, I've heard bluegill are second. This is why I feel like I'm gonna have problems unless I go with a dollar sunfish species.

Banded, bantam, mud and warmouth sunfish is less aggressive types. Had a greenie murdered a pumpkinseed. I've found northern longears to be more peaceful towards to other non sunfish species.

I mean, if you're looking for a smaller and less aggressive species, you could go with black banded sunfish. I have 4, and they're great.

So 3-4 blue spotted sunfish, with a madtom or two, and a handful of killis? I'm pretty sure that's about what I want right now lol. Til I come across something else. Wish I wasn't so indecisive.

That would work. In terms of Lepomis though if you're still looking at one, Bluegills and Warmouths tend to be less aggressive for the most part.

.

I know size wise I can't keep a bluegill for life. That being said. I like the idea of natives cause I have no problem rehoming to a pond owned by my buddy.
