I'm setting up a new stingray tank for my Black Diamond Stingrays. I'm wondering if everyone could share how their filter systems are set up? What type? How much media? Size of under tank filters... I'm looking for the most effiecent to process bio load and overall cost. Looking forward to your responses.

Depends on your tank size. If its big I would do two K1 barrels. If not a a 55 gallon or bigger sump filled with your choice of media. The more media the better!

It all depends on your space and tank size. a 200 gallon vs a 500 gallon is much different. Do you have a drip system setup?

Huge moving bed filter, huge sump, huge UV, rediculous amount of media and air......

It's a 450 gallon tank, 8 X 4 X 2, that will be in our family room. I have a K1 fluidized bed filter on another ray tank. I have never had a water quality issue with that tank. My concern is the noise it makes and it seems to have an odor. Thoughts? I have also used a heavy load of seachem matrix.

I'm thinking big sump for sure. I'm really trying to decide what media? Anyone using their sump to grow out new pups?

Im old school I would do tons and tons of bio balls, sponges and ceramic rings. People use pot scrubbers as an alternatives. I would diy my own sump and make sections for he pups. It's just like a tank lol I keep fry in my sump all the time. Just make a diagram what you need in there like a pump, heaters, baffles, plants possibly whatever your thinking.
