I'm not happy with any of my tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, this is real common. You've heard of mts, right? Well, this a is similar affliction called bts...Bigger Tank Syndrome.

If you're not happy with your tanks I'm sure someone here will take them off your hands

I think I have mts and bts i think lol. I'm always slowly working on upgrading tank sizes and getting more tanks than I can currently handle. At this point in my life I'm too busy with my kids but I can't help it.

I downgraded my fish and upgraded my tanks to happily suit their needs to there max size

75 gallon
270 gallon
600 gallon

Are more then good for me lol

Maybe a 125 too :p
And this is something I've considered. Just focusing on much smaller fish in the fish, like Rams.
It sucks because I've really ruled ever owning a jag or butti unless I can set up a 300 gallon lol

I think in your case you are the total opposite of the normal fish keepers which isn't a bad thing....you seem to exceed the normal appropriate tank sizes for fish.....you can keep some of the fish you have in smaller tanks then u believe in....

I was away from the hobby for 15 years and only got back into it about 6 months ago. I contemplated starting off small and working my way up but thought sod it and eventually decided to go with a near 200g set up. When it arrived and i looked at it in the living room for the first time i thought, my god, what have i done, it looked huge and i thought i'd bitten off more than i could chew. Now 6 months down the line me and the mrs are already planning building work to house another one twice as big for our RTGG which will eventually outgrow the 200g. This hobby just grows on you.

I'm pretty comfortable with my 220. It would always be better to go into the three or four hundreds but sometimes it's better to check yourself before you end up divorced. I figured since I could technically lay in it, it's about as good as I need. I still keep grow out tanks though. Prospects (30), minor league (55), pro (220). The 220 only has 4 fish in it, the 55 and 30 have two.

I felt the same way w/ a 13" Oscar in a 75g. I sold the Oscar because I didn't have a big enough tank at the time. I want what's best for the fish not what I want. Too bad more people don't feel the same way.

In my 180 always loved the way my tank looked when the fish are between 10 to 12 inch when the fish get over 12 inch I start thinking I need a bigger tank had it with my Oscar's and then my jags this time with the zonts I am going to upgrade
