How to decide between fire eels?

Our biggest one at about 16 inches looks just like this one. We are guessing it is a male. Ours will only eat earthworms. Ugh, such picky eaters. But....I haven't tried stuffing pellets in the earthworms yet. I guess we should do that.
 
Fat homer - I don't think they can knock the lid off, it's pretty hefty with the wood frame.

Fish tank travis - you'll have to let me know how they both get on! I've also heard tyre tracks are the most aggressive out of the spinys.

Fatlungy - she's beautiful. How do you sex them by the way, I'm assuming it's easier the bigger they get?
 
My young fire eel is extremely picky with food.It will only eat live blackworms which are not the easiest food to come by around here.
 
If it takes blackworms it should take earthworms which would be easier to get your hands on and cheaper.
They would have to be very tiny earthworms as the eel's mouth is very small at six inches.I have tried frozen bloodworms and it took them in a few times but spit them right back out and the ignored them.
