The name trimac, refers to the 3 (tri) spots.

That is a nice specimen what kind food do you feed them? Your water is always clear.
Hikari gold, earth worm and one or two muscles at weekend only. He loves muscles, I have to limit them, to many not good for is health.
I have hikari gold plus, dried bloodworms, nls medium cichlid, southern delight small cichlids and growth. I feed it on different occasions. For my fry I give hikari first bites and live baby brine shrimp. Do you purchase live earth worm? I tired muscles before all my trimacs didn't accept it.
I breed them in a wormermy, but the fish eat them quicker than they can breed. So i also purchase them from a fishing tackle shop.
DUDE, you're like a Legend in the cichlid community!!! When did you pop-up here? I been here 3 months and I don't think I ever even knew you were here until just now. Nice Trimacs, man....one fish I never owned
I persuaded him to come on about 8 month ago, luckily for me Andy lives about 3 miles away, still trying to figure out if I can smuggle big Mac and mcflurry out under my jumper next time I am round there, might have his cat as well
Regardless, it's a cool little fish. I actually like the looks of most low grade flowerhorn. My wife's fh has a fair amount of trimac vibe.
