So I have 4 bp fish but one is in a 150 grow out with:
Silver Arowana
Jack Dempsey
Angelfish
And the other 3 are with a FH

I was wondering why the separate one is not as red in color as the others. The other 3 were downsized to a smaller tank to make room for the arowana and they are all gleaming with color but the one remaining has not shown its color in some time. It continues to eat it's Cihlid pellets and steals from the arowana it's aro sticks but it's color isn't bright at all. Why is this the JD in the tank is bursting with color, the Angels are flashing their black stripes all the time and even the arowana has got an orange tint developing on its scales so why is this bp not colorful? Is it lonely? The JD occasionally picks on it, is that an issue its always been like that even when all the bp were together there was still bickering between all the cihlids. This one was also especially bullied by the Midas but that fish is gone now and there's plenty of room for it to swim and it picks on the Angels sometimes too

Could it be the lighter gravel? But when the others were in this tank they were also very colorful.
