Red Eyed pbass???

Guys i'm so confused and pissed. My friend had a monoculus and an orinoco, they're both red-eyed but not a wildcaught.
Then when i bought the exact same fish from him, the red eyes are gone when the fish settled in my tank.. Any clues? Maybe it's the tank setting ? Idk. Here i got a pic. It's the exact same fish (monoculus)

my fish had red eyes when i first bought them and they went away, maybe its due to stress of transit.
