The sump will be herbie style, 2 inch drains 1 inch returns, no baffles goinflg to copy ragin cajun and jc1119 builds (pond boxes). Probabbly do a few poret foam dividers allong with 4 filters socks. Havent decided on the pumps yet. Thinking 2 dc pumps operating each at 1200 to 1500 gph
The stand will most likely be metal. Gotta decide if i want the builder to fabricate panels/covers or do something myself

I would put considerably less sand than that. I have maybe 1 inch deep of sand. I put deeper sand in my 125 and I'm about to take some out.
Some of the polys like to bury themselvs. Spoke to chris today real nice guy

made it for me and i cant make it too tall since my basement stairway i can't fit that tall.. so when i get it down to my basement the stand will most likely be on bottom sitting on cut to 2" wide (2x4) and so does the top.. to get me an extra 3" to work easier on the sump underneath.. recently i went to home depot and saw some cabinet grade plywood on sale for $30 so i brought 3... just save a little but of course your acrylic stand covers would be good too....

here are some pictures of my 480g setup that might be similiar to what you're aiming at and a few pictures of simplified filter sock holder. it's like cajun's baffleless sump but with cheaper bio media

Check on the tank warranty. Some builders will not warranty a tank if it is not on a stand made by the builder. I can see why......acrylic tanks can fail if they are not properly supported on a level stand.
