Hi, looking for any info on getting my yellowtail barracuda to eat. I have had him for just about 2 weeks and I have not seen him eat once. I have been putting extra feeders in the tank to make sure he has a chance to get some. He is currently in a 150G with an 8 inch silver arowana and a 5 inch peacock bass. My water is in great condition with a temp of 79 degrees.

Any info would be great.

I would take him out of that tank. It'll be a meal soon from the aro or bass. Even if the same size. They are too thin and will be an easy meal.

If u got another tank or divide then I would suggest it.

Try floating cut up caenisticks after soaking or krill. Cut tilapia will help. It takes some time to break them.

Chicxulub has suggested using live crickets which would work as well.

The one I mentioned worked for me but my cudas. I had others in a group with trainer fish which helped.

Great info, thank you! I will give it a try

At least you got it to live 2 weeks. Do you think it could have eaten and you didn't notice. My red tails eat feeders before I can lean back down to look.

I have watched him and had my wife watch as we put the feeders in, nothing! Not sure if he eats at night, but his belly never looks full.

Hmmm. How big is it? I've had trouble in the past when trying to keep them solo. Everything would be completely normal and then boom they die. I've had it happen twice. One time I was watching the fish and playing video games. It was perfectly fine and I looked away for a while. When I looked back a few minutes later it was darting around erratically and died like 20 minutes later?

He is about 5 inches long. I am thinking of moving him to my 55 for a bit and see if he is by himself if that will help.
