Endli shaking off slime coat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is a lot of fish for such a small tank, cant see how the water could be good with a 50% every 3 or 4 day. Even daily changes of 50% are probably not enough. While the bigger tank will be better you are still going into it way overstocked. I would seriously rehome some of the ultra large growing monsters since housing them will be the most difficult. A mbu will need a huge tank and so will a royal clown knife just as an example.
+1

Anyone with any actual Endli experience similar or relevant to mine? I.e CB short body and related illness? Over production of slime coat over a long period not down to poor water or being subjected to a tankmates aggression?

Being cb or short bodied would have no effect on their slime coat.

Well since you dont like our answers why not use the search feature and see if you get an answer that fits your situation. It is toward the upper right with the little magnifying glass. I typed in 'endli slime' and quite a few things popped up that have a similar subject as your.

There are no known ill effects from being genetically stunted through excessive inbreeding? No diseases or illness they may come with or be more susceptible too?

Have you always used Prime? I have heard of some water conditioners like the API Stresscoat causing an excess build up of slimecoat on some fish. How about use of Seachem StressGuard?

I appreciate you took the time to reply but if you read my posts I've explained that these fish haven't always been together or at that thier present size but the problem seems to have persisted hence possibly indicating another reason. Unfortunately I got the usual your tanks too small, you can't keep this because my friend had this yada Yada Yada that all forums are littered with. I'm aware of everything that all of you have said even though I disagree with Alot of it. My issue is I'm looking for experienced Endli keepers who may have relevant species specific information

Also not always no. The stress coat by api is the aloe stuff right. That stuff costs a fortune here in the uk so when i got the 300l with predators it Was's costing me an arm and a leg just to do water changes. Changed to api water conditioner but that was giving me ph swings. Used Prime for the last 5 months maybe and other than the sulphur smell it's been great
