Wood glass overlap size?

Hi there I'm building a 8x4x2.5 and well I've cut my front panel but not sure how big my window will be I was thinking 3 inches of overlap of the wood and glass will this be sufficient?

Not sure how youre building it, but i had a 30-50mm overlap on mine. The glass is sitting against a pine frame.

Sweet Ive got a 75mm overlap then Im building it similar to how Joey is on his vids on YouTube if that makes sense
