BREAKING...400 Pound Gorilla Killed after Mandhandling Child!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wish there had been a better solution, but even though Silver Back may have been protecting the 4yr. old the gorilla could easily kill the child without knowing it because of the Silver Back's strength. Gorilla 's are my favorite of the primate family. They were need to investigate the parents, and find out where and what they doing at the time the child ended up in the enclosure.
I don't believe the gorilla meant any harm to the child but it had no way of knowing that a human baby can't be slung around as it would a young ape.I think even a chimpanzee is probably stronger than a grown man....as for the parents,if course no one can speak for them but they were probably just distracted in watching the animals.....but that is no excuse.

Krich your absolutely right, and Chimpanzee has strength of 3 or more men.

I remember first seeing this and thinking oh boy it's going to be Brookfield Zoo all over again but I guess I was wrong.

The mother is comically trying to defend herself but the animal crazies of the internet aren't buying it.

Wow,that reminds me of the pet chimp that went nuts a few years ago and ripped off a woman's face.

I wasn't there but perhaps child found a gap to get into enclosure, the zoo should have camera's in that area.

How many people have to fall into exhibits with potentially dangerous animals before zoos say "maybe we should make the enclosures almost impenetrable." You want to hope that parents are keeping an eye on their kids but thats not always the case and some kids are hard to constantly keep control of. Just waiting to hear how much the parents will be suing the zoo for.

Poor gorilla.

I totally agree with you. The enclosure was designed by engineers who should have covered every inch of the enclosure.

What we forget to ask ourselves is how the hell did that kid get into that space away from his parents? Easily could've been avoided. Honestly they did the right thing if my child was in that position I wouldn't give two rats ass if it was a rare gorilla or anything.

Rise of the planet of the Apes part 2....lol

Situations like this really hurt the credibility of zoos. A lot of people completely disagree with zoos in general. And the zoos response is that they do conservation research or other forms of non invasive research. Then they are forced to kill one of their animals. Good job guys...
While I don't think the parents should be allowed to sue them I do think the zoo should be fined by some regulartory body and forced to completely re-evaluate and even redo some of their current enclosures with potentially dangerous animals.

I know they don't want to the zoo to look like a prison but look what happens when the enclosures aren't secure enough.
