Repairing cracks in plastic tubs?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Perfect! Thanks for the image, makes perfect sense now! The 3m is fish safe? Won't leach back into the water? Also it will hold under pressure? The cracks are on the bottom.

I've never personally use it in aquariums just cars. You can use fiberglass resin all you need to do is scuff up the surrounding area it it will stick just make sure it fully cures before you fill it

Perfectly safe, cures inert. I fixed my indoor fish pool where the heater burned through a spot.

How about JB weld for plastics? I've used the traditional one on a valve cover for a vehicle. I got a vehicle for cheap and the previous owner tried to use some ghetto epoxy and was leaking oil from it. I took the old stuff off and used JB weld and sanded it down and never leaked.

Cake it on with multiple layers. I would use this if I was you. I would prep the area real good I would drill the ends and wetsand the whole cracks so the epoxy can get in there real good with no debris.

Maybe spray on some flex seal after not sure if the product works but wouldn't hurt.

I would use pond liner which is chap around the whole thing for sure it won't leak.

I have some liner I could use but would prefer to save it. I though about cutting a side off each one and making a 4x8 pond with liner inside... I would have to brace it though.

Sweet! Best place to order?

You can try amazon or a local auto body supply store. No need for the gun or the mixing tips it comes with. Just use a stick and plunge it out equally and mix. It's kinda expensive but it has the best adhesion I've ever seen of any glue. JB weld isn't even in the same league.

My bro does auto body I'll ask him if he can get it. JB weld was never a consideration lol
